Humans are drawn to texture–for many of us, we have to touch something to really experience it. That’s why fingerpainting is making such a comeback. Until now, artists have only enjoyed the sense of smell (paints and materials), taste (let’s face it, everyone’s tried edible paint), sound (the brushstrokes are soothing against a canvas), and sight (obvious). But with fingerpainting, not only are you able to express your vision or portray a scene using these senses, you can also utilize your fingers and entire hands to truly feel the paint as you work.
Along the same lines, here are two incredible images of paintings on fingers (and hands, and wrists) by Guido Daniele…
Until next time,
Happy April Fool’s Day! If you raised an eyebrow, or smiled, at this, share it with a friend! 🙂
