Simplifying With Shapes

I’ve found that almost all subjects are made up of variations of four simple shapes-circles, squares, rectangles and triangles-plus an amorphous shape I call a “peanut.” For example, these drawings show how I’ve reduced each subject to its basic shapes. Practice visualizing these shapes and drawing them confidently and freely, and you’ll soon be on your way to stronger drawing skills.
