Simply sedimentary

To keep your sedimentary colors from looking lifeless, use the unpredictability of washes to your advantage. Sprinkle water unevenly across the paper so that some places on the paper remain dry, some contain small amounts of water and others hold large amounts. Spatter your pigment across the surface and then take a dry brush and ease the pigment onto the dry portions of the paper. As the paint reacts to the water, you’ll see the unique pattern of sedimentary color begin to play out across the paper.
