Tip File: Terri Ford on Displaying Artwork

“Besides hanging paintings on my studio walls, I also display
smaller paintings on a shelf. I plan to add two more shelves around the walls.
They’ll have a lip and be carpeted, which will eliminate a gazillion nail holes
that are never in the right place when I switch work around, making everything
cockeyed. With shelves, all the paintings will be resting on the same level and
will appear in a more orderly display. —Terri Ford, from “Under the Surface” in the January/February 2011 issue of The Artist’s Magazine.
