Work Small to Avoid Frustration

Because it can be frustrating trying to cover large areas with watercolor pencils, I usually work a good deal smaller than the half sheet (15″x22″, 38cm x 56cm) or quarter sheet (11″x15″, 28cm x 38cm) I usually use for painting, and I use woodless pencils, crayons or sticks where I want quicker, more dense coverage.
