Patti Brady demonstrates the use of Acrylic Gels to build texture. Acrylic Gels range in their consistency and vary in degrees of sheen and transparency. Artists can use them to create glazes, extend paints, build texture, and change finishes. In some cases the Acrylic Gels are excellent glues for collage work. Gels can be thought of as colorless paints, as they are composed of similar polymers as are the acrylic paints. They are made of 100% acrylic polymers, which have proven to have excellent flexibility and chemical, water and ultraviolet radiation resistance.
The Gels in conjunction with Acrylic colors will broaden the working properties and expand on the possible results despite the different consistencies and finishes.
