Water Paint-Off Winner
October 20, 2008
by  Holly Davis
Water, Water Everywhere was one of the most popular All-Media Paint-Off challenges to date—and that made for some stiff competition. Several voters remarked that they had a tough time choosing among the four finalists, but in the end, Robert Bissett (message-board user name robert_bissett) won the day with his painting Fishermen (below), which he says is based on a scene from a nearby lake. Robert is not only an artist, but also a painting instructor and author. You can visit his website at www.buildart.com/index.htm.

Bissett will receive a $50 North Light Books gift certificate for his winning entry—not to mention our congratulations! Also to be commended are these three finalists:
  • Ryan Painter for Lions Head Lace (oil, 24x30)
  • Marko for Sailing with Sarah (diptich; oil, 30x60)
  • Shelley P for Black & White (Bufflehead) (watercolor, 10x14)
