In the December issue of Watercolor Artist, Kris Parins showed readers the key to preserving the luminosity of their subjects: painting from a backlit digital display (click here to read an excerpt). We’re now pleased to announce that the “editors’ choice” and the winner of our prize is Jos Antens of The Netherlands for his painting, The Green Horse Pub, Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands (watercolor on paper, 10×14), pictured above.
Antens remarks of the painting process, “As a plein air watercolorist, I want to paint outside whenever I can, but I do have my job and the days are getting shorter. I don’t always have the time to paint outside. That’s when I paint from my computer screen. It really is a good way to practice your drawing and painting.”
Congratulations to our winner and all those who entered their work! For details about the next Creativity Workshop challenge, or to learn how to enter your work for a chance to win the prize, click here.
