Q. Is drybrush a brush or a technique?
A. Drybrush is a technique, not a brush. You can use any brush to drybrush, and the technique will work on most paper surfaces.
If your goal in drybrushing is texture, however, and you want to give it an extra boost, try using rough paper and a flat brush. Load your brush with almost all paint; use very little water. Mix the paint into the brush so it’s even and drag it across the paper, barely touching the surface, leaving behind some of the white texture of the paper.
