Colored Pencil Botanical Demonstrations

Botanical artist Wendy Hollender’s colored pencil illustrations have graced the pages of publications such as Country Living and Horticulture magazines and the Missouri Botanical Garden scientific journal, Novon. In her workshops on her farm in Ulster county, New York, students not only study and draw the living plants and fruits (grown by her son) and their by-products but also sample their culinary possibilities (prepared by her daughter).

Botanical Drawing: A Beginner’s Guide is available at the bookstores of the New York Botanical Garden, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, as well as on the artist’s website (www.whartdesign.com).

Wendy Hollender is a feature artist in the September 2009 issue of The Artist’s Magazine, available online at the North Light Shop.
