Tip file: Workshop teaching success

Koo Schadler, an experienced instructor, offers up practical advice for teaching workshops in our March 2010 issue.

In the midst of a busy classroom, it’s important to set aside time to work on a painting of your own, and to allow students to stand over your shoulder and observe. It’s hard to imagine that any meditative act of tempera painting could be of interest to anyone except me, but inevitably it’s while watching me work that a student exclaims, “Ah! Now I understand!”

We’ve got examples of Schadler’s teaching agreement, syllabus, materials list and packing list to download free on our website. Learn more in the March issue of The Artist’s Magazine, available in print and as a digital download!
