It takes guts to put yourself out there; when we put our thoughts onto paper, be it painting, drawing, writing, etc., they become tangible and nearly permanent. Once someone sees the work, it may stay forever in his/her mind and we have to let it go. That’s why I’m always impressed with and inspired by the artists who enter their works in our fine art contests. It’s one thing to create something, but it’s another to believe in it enough that one is willing to share it with others and enter it into a competition with confidence that it will win.
And with that, I give you a slideshow of the featured works in our January/February 2013 issue of The Artist’s Magazine, which includes the winning paintings of our 29th Annual Student Competition. And, you can click here to enter your best works today; our 30th Annual Art Competition is now accepting entries. ~Cherie
