The award-winners in the 2015 UART Online Pastel Competition represent an impressive collection of pastel prowess and ingenuity. The juror was Liz Haywood-Sullivan—artist, author, instructor and current president of the International Association of Pastel Societies. She had her work cut out for her, having to select a first, second and third place winner, two special awards, and five honorable mentions from among the entries. Prizes for the contest included $1,000 cash; a Richeson Lobo Deluxe Easel ; Terry Ludwig Pastels, PanPastels; Caran d’Ache pastel pencils; a variety of UART pastel surfaces; and complimentary Pastel Journal subscriptions. Congratulations to the artists!
