Katherine Hurley use bold color and strong value contrasts to describe the landscape and the emotional territory of the scene as well. “For me, the landscape is a metaphor for everything in our hearts,” says the artist. “It harbors every emotion—melancholy, joy, peace, solitude, love. Every emotion we seek and feel is in the landscape.”
