MATERIALS LIST:

PaintWater-activated face paints by Klutz: The amount of water you use determines the thickness or thinness of the paint. Could be a thin wash or thick opaque application. Or can be applied drybrush. Paint dries quickly so you can touch it without smearing.
Sponges
Synthetic, firm, large pores: Try pottery sponges cut in half.
Brushes
Nos. 1, 3 and 6 synthetic rounds: Should be stiff bristled with a sharp point to give a fine line. Stay with no. 3 brush size for more control; as you go bigger you have less control and have to have a lighter touch.
Other
Cotton swabs: for cleaning, erasing areas, making perfect-ish circles, disposable tool, good for painting lips and around blemishes on the face.

ACRYLIC ENCAUSTIC RECIPES:
Bleached Acrylic Beeswax
2 oz. Soft Gel (gloss)
5 oz. Soft Gel (matte)
1-3 oz. water
2-4 drops Interference Blue (fine)
1 drop Interference Gold (fine)
Stir to a pourable consistency, adding water as needed. Pour over artwork (make sure art is dry first), spreading with palette knife. Allow to dry.
Yellow Acrylic Beeswax
8 oz. Soft Gel (matte)
2 drops Naples Yellow Hue
1 drop Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold
2 drops Interference Red (fine)
Mix to a yogurt-like consistency and apply over artwork (make sure art is dry first). Allow to dry.
Unrefined Acrylic Beeswax
8 oz. High Solid Gel (matte)
4-6 drops Interference Blue
1-3 drops Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold
5 drops Iridescent Gold (fine)
Mix thoroughly with a stiff knife and spread over artwork (make sure the art is dry first). Allow to dry.
