Paintings as Portals | A Gallery of Acrylic Paintings by Charles Gibbons

Charles Gibbons wants to make art that engages the viewer’s mind. As an artist, architect, deep thinker, world traveler, and student of art history, literature and the spiritual path, Gibbons aspires to create a connection. He wants people who view his abstract work in acrylic to go beyond the mere appreciation of a painting and examine how it makes them feel. “I want my paintings to be portals to the viewer’s inner self,” he says. “It happens through the mind. The paintings make you feel; looking at them activates something in the body.” You can read all about Gibbons’ creative process, working methods and materials in the magazine, Acrylic Artist, a 128-page special summer release (order your copy here) from the editors of The Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Artist, Pastel Journal and Drawing.
