It’s with great pride that we announce the Watercolor Artist 2013 Ones to Watch!
An emerging artist is one on the cusp of greater prominence, a painter whose work we’re likely going to be seeing a lot more of in national exhibitions, workshop programs and other art publications. To help us tap into this vein of burgeoning talent, we turn to our friends—well-respected instructors and exhibition jurors who see firsthand the work of watermedia artists who have taken a creative or technical leap forward and are garnering notice. In the December 2013 issue, these masters define the qualities that they think make this year’s Ones to Watch special. In turn, the featured artists share the creative breakthroughs, both big and small, and the watercolor techniques that have propelled their current work into the limelight.
