Glorious Glazes

Glazes—transparent applications—of color are a lovely way to change the mood or temperature of your work, or to add subsequent layers of definition or detail, no matter which wet medium you’re working in. You can make a glaze relatively thin by adding more water (or medium, as the case may be) to your pigment, or you can use more pigment if you want the glaze to have more body. But you’ll probably achieve the best results by using more-transparent pigments.
