Gregory Strachov | Unique Landscapes in Watercolor

Born of Russian heritage in Caracas, Venezuela, Gregory Strachov (pronounced Stra-hoff) immigrated to the United States with his family in 1955. He followed “the road not taken” when he left his career as a chemistry and biology teacher and, in one year, earned a bachelor of fine art degree with teacher certification from Kean University in Union, New Jersey. Strachov’s paintings hang in private collections throughout the United States and have been exhibited in museums around the world. His televised lectures on art and art theory are used as instructional material in museums and in graduate studies. Strachov has earned more than 60 art awards and, in May 2011, he received the Butler Institute of American Art Medal for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Visit his websites at www.lawfulart.com and www.strachov.com.
