Production on the next Drawing magazine is underway, and we’re thrilled to announce that our summer issue focuses on illustration, with articles featuring some of the world’s best illustrators, past and present.
Here’s a quick intro to some of the artists you’ll learn about in the upcoming magazine, which goes on sale at the North Light Shop in July:
Edward Sorel, a legendary illustrator, caricaturist, and political cartoonist. He’s created scores of magazine covers throughout his career, and here you can see his latest cover for The New Yorker, along with a gallery of other work.
Edward Hopper, who as a young artist worked as an illustrator, and whose drawings are now the subject of a phenomenal exhibition at the Whitney Museum (which will later travel to Dallas and Minneapolis.)
And finally, Edward Binkley, who works in both digital and traditional media. His fantastical works have earned him a wide base of devoted fans—George Lucas is among his collectors.
It’s a trio of Edwards! For much more on these and other leading illustrators, keep an eye out for the summer 2013 issue of Drawing. And if you want to get caught up, purchase the winter and spring issues today!
