Throughout English artist Mark Demsteader’s prolonged path of artistic development, he has remained unwavering in his devotion to figure painting. “I’ve always been interested in the figure; it has everything I need to draw and paint,” he says. “I’ve been a full-time artist for 15 years now and have tried other subjects, but I don’t feel as much for them as I do for the figure. It was just something that grabbed my attention from the beginning and has remained ever since.”
