No doubt about it; the summer season inspires painting. Just yesterday I had two emails from artists: One was leaving for Oregon to paint the lavender fields in Yamhill; the other was just getting back from a painting trip to Maine. If the summer has inspired your pastel painting, too, here’s an idea for turning that productivity into payoff: Enter your work into UART’s Summer Pastel Contest for a chance to win prizes valuing more than $1,200!
Here’s the scoop:
Deadline: The contest runs now through August 2.
Submission: All submissions must be emailed to [email protected] with the subject matter title: “UART Summer Contest—[your name].” In the body of the email, you must include your name, address and phone number (for contact), along with the title and dimensions of artwork (which must be pastel).
Subject Matter: Entrants must choose between two summer-themed subjects: Landscape: Summer-themed Ocean, Beach, Seascape or Still Life: Summer-themed fruits, vegetables and/or flowers.
