It’s not very often that the opportunity arises to see dozens of Charles Burchfield watercolors in one place, which is why DC Moore’s current exhibit, “Charles Burchfield: Fifty Years as a Painter,” is a truly special treat and one we just had to tell you about. Burchfield was a passionate advocate of the watercolor medium, which he began using as a child. He spent most of his life painting landscapes with an abstract vitality that set him apart from his contemporaries. (To learn more about the artist, read Watercolor Artist’s April, 2009 issue.) The exhibit runs through September 5, 2010.
