There is no place like home and there is no feeling like going home. I am lucky enough that my mother still lives in my childhood home. I was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, lived there until I was 24, then I married and moved to Kansas City.
Since my mom is 90 years old, visits to my hometown are very precious. Unfortunately, my dad passed when he was only 68, so when I visit Lincoln I dedicate my undivided attention to my mom. I relish every moment I get with my mother in my childhood home and I try to push the thoughts from my mind when this might not be possible.
I am especially excited about my upcoming visit to Lincoln, Nebraska. This visit will be Mother’s Day weekend and another chance to watch old movies until the wee hours of the morning with my mom. To make it even more special, I will celebrate the release of my latest book, Drawing Realistic Clothing & People.
On Saturday, May 9, I will have a book signing at Gomez Art Supply. My mom was with me at my very first book signing 21 years ago and it’s so special that she will be by my side at this book signing.
I also hope to reconnect with childhood and high school friends. I have been in contact with a few friends I haven’t seen in nearly 40 years and I have a full heart at the prospect of seeing great people after all these years.
Join me for this homecoming. Here are the details for the book signing:
