The Intricacies of Silver and Gold

Jewelry and design are dual passions for Randy Montoya. His skill with silver, gold, and intricate stone inlay is clear to anyone who sees his work. Many an eye is caught by the gorgeous metalwork and unusual styles of Randy’s necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

The artist started nurturing his passion in high school and then well beyond those formative years. With a mentorship and apprenticeship with master designer Douglas Magnus that lasted almost 20 years and an innate artist’s eye, Randy seamlessly blends the traditional with the contemporary in each of his pieces for jewelry that is timeless.

Randy’s work will be on display and available for purchase at La Fonda on the Plaza, the only hotel on the historic Santa Fe Plaza. Old World charm and modern luxuries combine at La Fonda on the Plaza, so don’t be surprised if you decide to stay awhile.

Midnight Muse by Andrea Peterson

Delight in the Fanciful

The work of Andrea Peterson offers an instant, alluring escape from reality. Her paintings bend the mind in the most delightful way as she incorporates figures, patterning, flora and fauna together on canvas. Her colors are both subtle and bold and her skill with the brush is clear as she produces oil painting after oil painting that are clearly one-of-a-kind.

Palace Avenue Arts, in exclusive partnership with Drury Hotels, brings Andrea’s work — and the works of several other exceptional painters, sculptors and photographers — to the Drury Plaza Hotel near downtown Santa Fe.

With a life story that moved her up and down the East Coast, Andrea also has a varied background, with experience in communications, illustration and, obviously, painting. She has exhibited her work both in the United States and abroad.

Tim Wong and Akiko Hirano

The Power of Word and Image

Photographer Tim Wong and calligrapher Akiko Hirano are partners in the creation of a body of work that pair stark and striking black and white images with notable Japanese calligraphy and quotes. The resulting artwork is poised and speaks to any viewer with words of ancient reflection.

Their work will be showcased at Edition ONE Gallery, in the heart of Canyon Road, which specializes in exclusive editions of one from emerging and established artists from Santa Fe and around the world.

Quiet, unpretentious beauty is the essence of the Japanese aesthetic as well as an enduring quality of the American Southwest. Tim and Akiko bring both together at Santa Fe Artists in Residence.

A Lyrical Way

Roberta Parry watercolor paintings have a lyrical way about them. There is no other way to describe it as she showcases her absolute affinity for watercolor and the impact of light and color on her work.

They will be perfectly showcased at the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado — a secluded refuge in the Land of Enchantment. The scent of piñon woodsmoke often fills the air in this ruggedly beautiful setting of 57 rolling acres in the Sangre de Cristo foothills, yet just minutes from downtown Sante Fe’s shops and galleries. Rancho Encantado is undeniably romantic and the perfect setting for an art- and nature-lover to explore.

Roberta’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows in New Mexico and neighboring states, as well as public spaces in Santa Fe. Parry studied art at the University of Arizona in Tucson and at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

Her Best Friends

Melinda Silver began her artistic career as an illustrator and graphic designer for print media, and pen and ink were her best friends.

Over the years, she expanded her range of media and artistic styles, and now concentrates on painting with acrylics and with encaustics (hand-prepared oil tints with wax formulations) as she ventures into the abstract, sometimes with vignettes of collage.

Melinda and her work will be present and on display at the Inn of the Governors, an intimate and charmingly authentic southwest-style hotel located in downtown Santa Fe. The Inn is a tranquil destination to be sure, but simply stroll outside the door and you will find yourself walking straight into the heart of Santa Fe’s historic plaza district—a world of enchanting landscape, culture, and history. Some of the city’s best restaurants, museums, shops and landmarks are just blocks away.
