Nathalie Kalbach | Runtime (98 min)

In Acrylic Painting Workshop: Creating Canvas Textures, Nathalie Kalbach will teach you, and student Kristy Conlin, to create temptingly touchable textures on your artwork. She’ll show you how to layer found objects such as fabric, tissue paper, metal parts and more, and then how to make them accepting of acrylic paint which can reveal the textures. Nathalie will then show you how to create tactile texture with acrylic media such as molding paste, heavy body paint, gesso, stencils and stamps. She’ll then give you techniques and ideas for working with Effect Media including Glass Beads, Black Lava and Natural Sand.

Nathalie is a good teacher, but Kristy makes her even better. Kristy keeps the video going when at times, Nathalie struggles for the exact English words to say. The chemistry between the two is great.

Totally enjoyed this video! Love the teacher's great sense of humor and the paint encrusted apron looks like my work jeans!

Very informative. I was not aware of how many different ways you could achieve texture. I also learned a lot about the many types of mediums and acrylic paints.
