Extreme Face Painting with Brian and Nick Wolfe: How to Paint a Skull and Mask
Materials
Paint
- Water-activated face paints by Klutz.
The amount of water you use determines the thickness or thinness of the paint. Could be a thin wash or thick opaque application. Or can be applied drybrush. Paint dries quickly so you can touch it without smearing.
Sponges
- Synthetic, firm, with large pores. Try pottery sponges cut in half.
Brushes
- Nos. 1, 3 and 6 synthetic rounds.
Should be stiff bristled with a sharp point to give a fine line. Stay with no. 3 brush size for more control; as you go bigger you have less control and have to have a lighter touch.
Other
- Cotton swabs.
For cleaning, erasing areas, making perfect-ish circles, disposable tool, good for painting lips and around blemishes on the face.
