Jon deMartin | Runtime (210 min)
Master artist and 20-year international instructor, Jon deMartin shows you simple and effective ways to create realistic form in How to Paint: The Grisaille Method. In this two-for-one video workshop (over 3 hours of instruction!), Jon shows you how a monochromatic palette is all you need to create stunning realism and dimension. Starting with an overview of materials, Jon begins with tips on drawing and proportions. He then takes you through the methods of creating both open grisaille (thin, transparent washes of paint to establish shape and shadow) and closed grisaille (building a full tonal and value spectrum) in oil, for results that will pop off your surface!
