I found the video tedious with minimum instruction value. Too much blank content of watching him put in the background. Needs to be edited to show the various parts of his process. For example, how does he decide to remove the mask? What kind of edge is left when it's removed? He painted over the foreground mask with shadow, but never revealed how it turned out when he went to finish it off.

This a very disappointing video. I gave it 2 stars because I think the artist is funny and engaging and i like the fantasy subject, but it is not a good instruction video. He used all the time to show the non-detailed acrylic wash background, and then he only did the tiny face (which is in profile, no less) and hair in oil. The rest of the giant painting was completely untouched and uninstructed. He should have done larger swathes and different areas of the painting, or at least shown us the speed-painting of the whole thing--it's not worth it just for seeing the teeny face at all. (For a better, more detailed video about painting in detail and small brushes with oils, A Brush with Wildlife is a wonderful choice.)
