What Jennifer Lepore, Online Content Development Manager for ArtistsNetwork.TV, has to say:
The diversity of skin types and ethnicities makes for a colorful canvas. In this video Chris shows you how to see the color of skin in light and shadow and how to mix your oil paints to achieve the right color every time. Don’t expect a finished painting from this video, but do expect to have your eyes opened as you learn how to mix the subtleties and delicacies of color that will give truth to your oil portraits.
Although Chris Saper is a very talented painter I am disappointed with the DVD as she uses so many different colors from various companies which are hard to get here in Australia. I had to learn to paint with a limited palette and have always found that an important skill to have. I had hoped that in this DVD colours would be made from the basic, well known colors. So it is difficult to learn to make all the skin tones particularly as I paint in water soluble oil which has a more limited color range.
