About the Artist
Doug Swinton is one of Canada’s premiere plein air painters. He has a vast knowledge of art techniques and materials. He teaches classes and workshops throughout Western Canada and leads painting groups to various locations across the country.
“For me as an artist, the close proximity of the prairies, foothills, and mountains of Alberta make my home province a never-ending dream. I’ve been lucky to have painted in many countries, but to me there is still nothing more beautiful than a cold beer and a hot Calgary summer sunset.”
