In this video workshop, Mark Menendez will teach you how to paint a portrait of a Golden Retriever, followed by a brief demonstration on how to paint the dog’s body.
With the use of highlights and shadows, you will learn how to create depth, shape, and form within your portrait, while receiving additional tips on how to paint glistening eyes and a wet nose. You will use a grid technique and tracing paper to make sure your portrait comes out proportionate and realistic. After you complete the portrait, you will receive instructions on how to use shapes to create an accurate representation of the dog’s body, along with helpful hints on how to make a realistic tail.

Mark Menendez is an acclaimed artist with works housed in several permanent private and corporate collections, and has illustrated books for several publications, including Anne Rice’s The Mummy, as well as many children’s books.
